Teacher Appreciation Week
Since 1984, National PTA has designated the first week in May as a special time to honor the men and women who lend their passion and skills to educating our children.
PTA events at the national, state and local levels celebrate the outstanding contributions teachers make. We are also proud to recognize teachers and administrators with awards and grants.
Connect for Respect
Connect for Respect(C4R) is National PTA’s initiative to help students, parents and educators to create school climates full of safe and supportive peer relationships.
Take Your Family to School Week
February 15-19, 2016
National PTA's Take Your Family to School Week will focus on the theme Supporting Student Success to promote family engagement solutions that are proven to help prevent the risks associated with high school dropout.
Resources and Grants Available
National PTA will send a new PTA Take Your Family to School Week Kit to a total of 200 PTAs:
- the first 150 PTAs that sign up to host an event
- 50 PTAs that receive a $1,000 grant for hosting at least two events.
Take Your Family to School Week Grant Application Deadline:
Monday, November 3 at 5:00 p.m. EDT.
PTA Family Reading Experience
The PTA Family Reading Experience, Powered by Kindle is a program that helps children become better readers and helps foster the love of reading through a set of literacy games and activities that are fun for the whole family. The goal is to improve reading skills of children between kindergarten and fifth grade.
School of Excellence
National PTA School of Excellence is a recognition program that supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students.
Last year, more than 300 PTAs partnered with schools to participate in National PTA's School of Excellence program. Of those participants, National PTA is pleased to recognize 170 schools from across the country as the 2014-2016 National PTA Schools of Excellence for their achievements in building strong family-school partnerships.
