Background
Early in 2006, the Michigan PTSA Board of Managers committed to engaging in a new and genuine strategic planning process- one that would set the association on a true course for the future. Phase I involved crafting a team that would reflect the full spectrum of Michigan’s diversity with particular regard to PTA; urban, rural, suburban, long-time members, new members, never-been-members, critics and cheerleaders of the association and even policymakers.
In August, Phase II began and the Strategic Planning Team met to lay the foundation for Michigan PTSA’s future. Over a two day process, the 16 member team established collective beliefs, crafted a mission statement, and identified two strategic objectives and three strategies that will define the future work of the association. Upon receiving board approval, three action teams will be convened to lay out the specific steps Michigan PTSA will take in order to accomplish its mission. |
